Please join us starting Wednesday, September 9th for Women’s Enrichment Ministry Bible study.  Our fall semester will run from September 9 - November 18, 2026.  This group meets weekly on Wednesday mornings from 9:30AM to 11AM in the Family Life Center, room 204.  The room is open at 9AM for early arrival and social time.  Zoom is offered as an option if you wish to take part virtually.

This semester we will be studying Reading Like Jesus: A Study on the Spirit Behind the Scriptures.  Have you ever wondered why Jesus said, “You have heard that it was said….but I say to you…?”  Was Jesus changing the Old Testament?  Rejecting the Law?  Or was He inviting his followers to discover something deeper?

In Reading Like Jesus, you’ll journey through the Sermon on the Mount and discover that Jesus never dismissed Scripture.  He fulfilled it.  Again and again, He moved beyond simply keeping rules and revealed the heart of God behind every commandment.

Our curriculum is created and will be taught by Senior Pastor Kim Burke.  So, there is not a book you need to buy for the class.  We will have handouts, as well as Bible reading and homework assignments each week.  Please bring your Bible to class each week.

Please join us for a lively discussion each week as we explore this curriculum with Pastor Kim.  Invite your friends to join us too.  Remember, you do not have to be a member of FUMC-Boerne to take part in WEM.

This year's retreat has come and gone but to give you an idea of what it was like:  our restorative and inspiring retreat was created to recharge your spirit, deepen your faith, and celebrate the remarkable stories of women who have shaped the Church across generations. This year’s theme, “Herstory,” brought together the powerful narratives of biblical and post-biblical women who stood strong in adversity, walked with courage, and lived out God’s grace in extraordinary ways.  You have a story as well.....  

Our next Women's Retreat will be held in Spring 2027.  We'd love for you to join us!
