Centenary College Choir in Concert at FUMC
Hailed as "America's Singing Ambassadors" by the press, the Centenary College Choir has traveled the US and the world for seven decades bringing a unique and diverse manner of programming that ranges from Bach to Broadway, world folk music to contemporary church music, oratorio to opera. The Choir seeks to engage audiences through emotional, heart-felt music making. They have sung for frontline troops in Korea, the Presidents of the United States and Switzerland, the Queen of Denmark, the leaders of NATO, and the Prime Minister of Thailand. The Choir will be in concert at FUMC-Boerne on Saturday evening, Oct. 4, at 7 pm in the Sanctuary. The concert is free and open to the public, but a love offering will be taken. NOTE: If you can host students of the Choir overnight in your home after the concert, please e-mail Rev. Dr. Russell Miller, or 249-2565.

Wesley Nurse coming to FUMC Boerne
A new ministry is coming to FUMC Boerne. In partnership with Methodist Healthcare Ministries, we will soon be the host for a "Wesley Nurse" to serve Boerne and the broader Kendall county community. The Wesley Nurse Health Ministries™ program (WNHM) is a faith-based, holistic program committed to serving the least served through education, health promotion, and facilitation of resources. WNHM™ serves 80 church sites throughout South Texas by providing Wesley Nurses to minister to those in need. Wesley Nurses work in partnership with other individuals and organizations committed to a health care outreach mission. While the Wesley Nurse will be a registered nurse (RN), her job will not be to provide on-site nursing services (such as wound care, etc.) The partnership of church, nurse, and community is the core of this holistic program. Wesley nurses assist individuals and communities in achieving improved health and wellness through self-empowerment and access to health care resource information. The professional practice of the Wesley Nurse is not limited to the physical dimension of medical needs; rather, it includes a mind/body/spirit holistic approach. Methodist Healthcare Ministries supplies all the financial support for this position (salary, benefits, etc.). Our job as a church will be to provide her office space and to create a Health Ministry team to work in partnership with her to vision, evaluate, and implement ways to serve the underserved population in our community. Health care professionals and others are encouraged to consider serving on this team. If this interests you, please contact Anna or Russell! We hope to have our new Wesley nurse here in the next few months, so watch for more information. Pray for this nurse, and this new way we can be the hands and feet of Christ to those in need. As deacons in the church, our heart, calling, and vocation is to connect the church and the world in meaningful ways. We think this is going to be one of those ways! - Rev Dr Russell Miller, and Rev Anna Troy
