Border Crisis Update: How you can help now
The United Methodist Conference has recommended the following to directly help support relief efforts to care for adults and children being detained after crossing the Mexico/US border: Please make donations directly to the areas being affected by making checks to "Texas Border Crisis," and send to McAllen District, 1909 W. Harrison, Harlingen, Texas 78550. The McAllen District will then get the funds directly to those churches providing relief to those in need. Many thanks for your support!

New Schedule announced for Clergy
With the arrival of our new Associate, Anna Troy, your clergy have made a few changes of which they wish to make you aware. Our days off will now be: Anna on Monday, and Ricky, Billie, and Russell on Fridays. Hospital visitation days (except emergencies) will be: Billie on Monday, Ricky on Wednesday, and Anna on Friday (although Russell often helps with visitation, it is not part of his job description). Also, please keep in mind that Monday and Wednesday afternoons are set aside as time for preaching preparation. The clergyperson preparing may or may not be in their office but, regardless, would appreciate an opportunity for uninterrupted praying and planning. Thanks for your understanding! — Rev Dr Ricky Burk
Welcome, Anna Troy
Our new Associate Pastor, Anna Troy, began serving our church in early June. She graduated from Brite Divinity School in mid-May with an MA in Christian Service. Anna is also a "PK" (preacher' s kid) as both of her parents are United Methodist clergy in our Conference. She will assist in worship services, preach occasionally, and be part of our rotating pastoral ministry to hospitals, nursing homes, nursing home worship services, and home-bound persons. Her main focus will be supervising our church services team (Faith in Action, Lifeline, and other mission and service areas). Anna is bilingual and has experienced a variety of cultural settings - Native American, Texas Hispanic, and Latin American. She has served as a missionary in Costa Rica. I am grateful to our District Superintendent, Bill Henderson, for helping us to find Anna. - Dr. Ricky L. Burk
