Pastor's Corner….. Staffing Update & Changes: Staff Parish Relations Committee had asked for an additional clergy appointment to fill the position left vacant by Paul Evans' departure. A suitable clergy was not available. Therefore, we have made adjustments to cover particular areas of ministry. Rev. Dr. Russell Miller will assume more preaching responsibilities, committee assignments and other pastoral duties. He will relinquish the leadership of the 9:30 a.m. Sunday service Praise Team. Chris Taylor and Jennifer Owens will assume dual leadership of the Gathering music & the 9:30 a.m. Praise Team beginning June 20. Bruce Brehm has been employed, part-time, to coordinate the technical, sound & computer areas of ministry. Rev. Conrad Archer will continue working ten hours per week to be the minister relating to Celebrate Recovery and to teach short term Bible Studies. Rev. Larry Robbins will assume Nursing Home and Homebound Care to our congregation beginning July 1. The Stephen Ministry will continue to assist with hospital visitation. While this is different from our original plan, I believe all areas of ministry will be adequately served. -- Fred

ANNUAL CONFERENCE REPORT FUMC Boerne was well represented at this year's Southwest Texas Annual Conference which was held June 2-5 in Corpus Christi. The delegation from our church was led by Pastors Fred Martin, Kim Burke, and Dr. Russell Miller. Lay Delegates to the meeting included Ann & Girvin Harkins, Sue & Ken Morris, Judy & Fred Martin, Rhonda Riser, & Jack Morrow. Highlights included the reappointment of Pastors Fred, Kim, and Russell to our church for the next year. We did not receive an appointment for the vacant Associate Pastor position. It is always an honor to attend the Ordination Service and see the new pastors being ordained. Likewise, it is inspirational to hear from the retiring pastors as they reflect on their years of service to God. The conference heard from several special guests speaking on a variety of topics, but of special note was a sermon from Pastor Tyrone Gordon from St. Luke Community UMC in Dallas who preached on the "Great Commission of Jesus" from the Gospel of Matthew. If you would like any more information regarding Annual Conference, please contact one of the delegates listed above.

New Member Shepherding Program Jesus: "The Good Shepherd" The Nurture Committee is launching the ―Shepherding‖ Program to help new members feel welcome and to become more rapidly familiar with all of the wonderful ministries and activities available in our church! As our church continues to grow, it can sometimes be overwhelming for new members to ―find their way‖ by using a welcome packet alone. The Shepherding Program will provide new members with the option of being assigned a ―shepherding‖ individual (or family) to personally help them ―get connected‖ with other church members, programs, and ministries at their desired level of participation.

We are beginning to build the ―Shepherding Team‖ now. If you have the desire, capacity, and feel ―called‖ to help welcome our new members, please contact Ann Harkins at (830) 537-3184. A short training program will be offered this September; the Shepherding Program is set to begin in October. Thanks for your consideration!
