Cardiac Arrest Response Team
THE MISSION of the Cardiac Arrest Response Team is to glorify God and our Savior Jesus Christ by providing quality public access defibrillation and basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation to the congregation of the First United Methodist Church of Boerne, Texas.
Our Purpose
Over a quarter of a million Americans will die each year of sudden cardiac death prior to arrival to a hospital.
The chances of surviving cardiac arrest from ventricular fibrillation decreases 10 percent for every minute that passes from the onset of arrest and an emergency response call occurs approximately once a day for every 10,000 people.
The number of members of the First United Methodist Church of Boerne, Texas are growing. The church pastorate, staff and congregation have requested the need for a first responder team called the Cardiac Arrest Response Team (CART). CART is equipped with an automatic external defibrillator when used immediately following cardiac arrest greatly increases the chance of the victims survival and as a result CART has been formed to provide this emergency medical response in a consistent and quality manner.
For such a program to be successful, it requires dedicated and reliable members to provide consistent and quality care.
