Sylvia Miller Biography

Sylvia Miller has been organist and pianist for First UMC since October of 2004. A native of Amarillo, she holds a degree from West Texas State University (now West Texas A & M) in Canyon, Texas, and has a background in keyboard, choral, and handbell music. In addition to her duties at the church, she teaches a full studio of piano students, and serves as a trained Stephen Minister in our congregation. She and her husband, Russell, perform handbell duets under the name “Double Ring."

The Millers have two grown musical children, Adam and Sarah.  In her spare time (?) she enjoys quilting, sewing, and gardening.
